Here’s the record for you Dan – I love this one. The cover is in great shape for its age – was in a cover, packed well in a case. There is the discoloration you can see on the back cover, but it is typical for a record of this age, and minor in the scheme of things. All three edges are great – no flaking, splitting or other deterioration. Tiniest bit of wear on the bottom edge, but it is seriously minor – spine is great.
The wax is great and looks better than the pictures show – I did NOT clean this one yet or anything, so that was as I found it. There was a mark that looked like a water mark from a previous cleaning, but I can run this thru the Spin Clean for you. Labels are clen as you can see – light marks near the spindle holes.
I spun it when I was cleaning other stuff, and it played wonderfully – there are some whispers on it from a needle, but for an original doo-wop rocker like this, it is super clean, to me. Nothing in it was distracting from a vinyl quality sense – I was super happy to have it playing, and noted its clarity while playing it. The mono recording makes it really present. But it’s not a NM one or anything – it is a very solid VG+, playing like a NM, to me. Everyone has there thresholds.
You can see it all for yourself in the pics I hope – I am honestly not trying to sway you either way, just trying to tell you accurately what it is. I will spin it again to listen more closely for imperfections if you want me to, I would have no problem playing this one over and over again – but I tend to try to leave them be as much as I can when selling them. If you want me to check again though, just let me know.
