Ah, this record…I first heard it back in the 80s when discovering rockabilly, and it killed me. Playing it today, it has the same punch and power – just a great record overall here, a classic in every respect. It plays well too!

This copy has been packed in a box, in a plastic sleeve and temperature controlled a LOOOOONG time. I bought it last week at an estate sale, as the collector died.

The cover front and back panels are nice as you can see – but the edges have been repaired (repaired well – it looks pretty old) and spine is going…but in the sleeve, it looks nice.

The record had more whispers on it than I saw initially (I cleaned it and put it under a brighter, stronger light this morning) so I was a little worried about playback – but spinning it was great. It would be disingenuine to say it has zero surface noise, but there was definitely nothing that pulled me out of enjoying the playback again – I spun it all, and was making my son listen to Glen Campbell’s crazy guitar licks and Wanda’s sexy growls…he loved it too!

I heard almost nothing during the songs, and maybe some pops between them – again, I didn’t hear surface noise that would make me grumble here, or distract from the performances. It spun like a champ for me, but everybody has theor thresholds.

I hope that description helps – it plays great to me. It is not without a few random pops, but nothing consistent or indicating the record got trashed along the way. It got played way back when, but it was well cared for, and I am relatively sure it didn’t see a turntable for decades before I got it last week.
