Hey Vincent – Here are those records we are discussing. I think I gave you enough info in the email to get a handle on them, when coupled with these pictures – but if you want me to do any video clips, just tellme which you’d like to hear/see that way.
I will separate each othem below by the record – click an image to see it bigger, using the BACK button of the browser to return here.
Sylvia Simms with Kenny Burrell – Sylvia is!
This one, I wasn’t sure on, but it is a cheap one and seems to be in good shape overall. Looks like I only ghot one side of the wax, but they were about equal… note hole punch in upper right. Slight curl from the shrink there too.
Kenny Burrell – All Night Long
Note, on the labels, there is a pencil 4 on each side – likely could be erased carefully, though I will not do that. Cover is pretty sweet here but back is aging – wax has some storage scuffs, particularly on the All Night Long side.
Jimmy Smith – Got My Mojo Workin’
This one, the cover has some wear, and if any is gonna have an odor it was this one (though I may get that out before I send it). I saw a taped edge on one side of the gate, zoomed. Marker on label one side, zoomed. Note initials in the gatefold too. I dig that original inner…not too common. Wax quality makes up for the cover wear.
Kenny Burrell – All Day Long
This one is a nice copy, but does have wear. The wax looked questionable, so I put it on while I worked. I did not pay super close attention to it, but did listen to it all – it plays well, but has some noise. I only did a light cleaning, so with a deeper cleaning some might come out of it, but not all – I am lowering the ask price accordingly. I’ll talk about it in email.
There’s some light pen noted on front cover, still the cover is in nice shape overall, even with that pen because it is light ballpoint. But still a marr on it being super clean.
