Hey brother – let’s just jump right in. And if there is any you want me to play test or look at the wax more closely, I certainly can for you – no worries. I love my job. 🙂
Anita O’Day – Anita O’Day Sings Jazz
I wanted to start with the cover that was in the worst shape. This one, is because of the almost total edge split on the top. The panels are clean enough, so it will look good in a sleeve, but it should never really come out of the sleeve too much again, once she’s home. That was definitely the worst of things in this batch.
Julie London – Lonely Girl
We’ll go into the next bad one – this is bad only because she has a tear in the front cover. You don’t tear my Julie!!!!
Billie Holiday – Music for Torching
Here’s a Billie record…I found 3 more downstairs before we totally walk away.Â
This one has fucking Artie fingerprints on it – I swear, he dipped his hands in bullshit, and just rained it down on me.Â
But otherwise, this one was pretty solid. The wax has some wispys, but nothing deep. Light stuff. Looks great.
Joy Bryan – Joy Bryan Sings
This was a weird, but really cool record to me…she is a very plain singer, stranded out there and very straight ahead, but the arrangements were very cool and sparse. So it is like she is some plain Jane, in the middle of cool – and holds her own. It is a great arrangement, with a lot of space…it was a cool record to me for whatever reason. Some serious discoloring on the back cover, but the front looks good – that is a little flake in the finish layer seen in the upper right corner. Â
Wednesday’s Child – Patty McGovern and Thomas Talbert
Billy Mitchell – A Little JuicyÂ
Happy we found this one…some super cool music on it for sure, and this one is pretty unplayed.
