Cool classic jazz record to talk about here. We have Cannonball Adderly’s Somethin’ Else on Blue Note, the 1960 RVG repress.

I love the condition of this one, even though there has been a little work done to the spine…the work was done well, and it helped to preserve this one nicely. It was stored in a plastic sleeve, and I found it in a well kept box where it had probably been for a couple decades.

You can see the front is in solid shape, while the back is clear, but showing its age/dirt. The wax was nice too, though there are wispy marks from play on each side. I spun it this morning after a quick rinse in the Spin Clean, and it sounds great – I forgot how cool this one was…but it plays well (I’d put it VG+, or at least a super strong VG) with no skips that I heard. It does have occasional crackle from the surface marks – it is not like a constant popping, but more of the occasional crackle of it…it never overtook the music, it was always less than the playing. But be aware, there is some surface noise in the playback…I guess it is less than I come to expect in most jazz records from this time. This is a solid one, and hope the pictures and my description do it justice.
