Here we have It’s Time by Jackie McClean, an original Blue Note release.
This is a pretty special find – it was in a box with a couple other copies, all later releases. It was stored well, and kept in a plastic outer sleeve. I did replace the sleeve with a brand new one, and I put the wax in a new inner, just to protect it.
The cover, as you can see, has some shelf wear to it on the front and back, but is otherwise clean. There is one small split, and one corner is a little bumped so I zoomed in on them. The pictures show the wear accurately. The original Blue Note Inner is in great shape, so I took it out of the sleeve and put it in the plastic outer. The wax is in a plastic-lined inner.
The wax is really lovely – you can verify the labels are the originals, and should be able to see runouts. I played the whole thing and loved the playback – super clean and present. I took a 3 minute video showing me doing some random needle drops, and it will show you how nice and clean this is – as do the pictures.
I do have cleaner covers on later editions, but this one is still nice…and for an original Blue Note, this one’s wax has very little wear to it at all. I think it is a lovely find, especially when it is on the turntable. It spins wonderfully.
