Here we are looking at Stanley Turrentine’s Up at Minton’s on Blue Note from 1961. This is a nice copy overall, but does have a few flaws that bring the price down a lot.
The cover of this one is pretty solid, but there is some kind of slight discoloring on the front…looks to be from some kind of moisture, but it is pretty minor. There is still a good shine to it, and the back cover is clean.
The inner looked to be a factory one, but when I pulled it out, it is a Columbia one, not the Blue Note one from 61. It is an old one. so was likely replaced a long long time ago…I can provide a new sleeve with it.
Labels on both sides are clean and pretty.
The wax is not without flaws either, but I spun it because I wanted to hear the Grant Green bits (was NOT disappointed either!). I found it played well, but there is a click-producing mark on side one, and it is not going to clean out…I tried to hit it with some cleaner, but it didn’t help a ton. This is the reason this one is inexpensive – I thought the rest of the record played well, but that one mark is noted in playback for sure. I still loved it – it was a great record.
