Here is a copy of The Impressions for sale, in super shape overall.
The first picture shows how I got this in the collection I bought: it had a thick outer sleeve (plastic, likely 3 mil) and also had the original shrink still on the cover. Many of the records in this collection were like this, and they were stored in a careful place – great shape on them for a collection of this age. I kept a ton of them for myself, actually. 🙂
The wax has some scuffs from play for sure – I cleaned it in the Discwasher, but they were in there. They are not deep enough to cause any skips that I heard anywhere – it is more in the light surface noise that you’d expect from a record of this age – especially a soul one. Soul and Rockabilly records simply got played a ton, and usually show it – this one, does not show any bad damage, and the stuff that does show simply puts a little background warmth in it to me. It’s the mono record so it has a LOT of presence – and I liked it so much, it stayed on the turntable for a few successive spins.Â
The cover is the real star here though – it is as nice a cover as you are gonna see, I think. There is no wear that shows (thank you for the sleeve, former owner!), no writing, saw cuts or other diminishing marks. I did not remove the original shrink at any point, but should you do that, you’d find a near perfect cover as the pictures here support.Â
This is a real honey of a record – I would have kept this one too, but needed to sell some of the collection, and I kept “Keep on Pushing” by them from the same grab. As I stated on Discogs, if you PP me $100 flat for it, I will happily send it your way via MediaMail. If the wax didn’t have those hairlines on it, I would have this for a firm $150 at least…but happy to help you get a sweet one here!
I encourage you to look at these as close as possible – you can click on any image to blow it up. Zoom in and check the details, then use the back button to get back here. Hope you can see all you need to see – Cheers! – Marty
