This is a copy of Abbey Road pressed on Japanese red vinyl.
My uncle Hox, the namesake of this record business, picked it up in Viet Nam in 1969…so this one has seen some miles. The cover is worn, and the edges are splitting – the spine on it is about gone completely. However, you can see that the front and back covers are still in nice shape.
I saw a couple marks in the wax so I spun the whole thing yesterday – it sounded really great, and I did not hear the marks translated in the playback. Not to say it is free from any surface noise (it is from Viet Nam, in 1969, and it did get played) – but it is in great shape, to me. I was only going to play parts of it, but ended up spinning the whole thing, because it IS such a good record.
The red wax is beautiful, but my favorite part is the lyric sheet – it is like reading a fortune cookie or instructions on assembling something…great stuff.
I did video clip some of the time I was spinning it yesterday – -I learned my stereo is having channel issues, but you should be able to hear how nice the vinyl is – and you’ll see it spinning on my table. If you want me to email the files to you, shoot me your email address.
If there is anything else I can tell you about it, let me know – Cheers!
