Here, I am going to detail a little bit more about the current discounted box lots of vintage vinyl I am offering for sale on Facebook Marketplace, right now being 75 jazz records for $75.

These are randomly picked (by me) records from a HUGE inventory of them I have here at my house. I bought out a record hoarder about 5 years ago, brought 3 28-Foot trucks full of stuff back here, and have been digging my way out ever since. I want to speed up the clearing out process.

These are records I looked at once 5 years ago-put in a box, and have not been back since…it is time to thin the herds and reclaim my space. I can’t speak for the spaces where it came from, but my place is smoke-free and fully airconditioned.

I have boxes I could fill with different genres (rock, pop, jazz, country, soundtracks) but these in review/discussion, are ALL and ONLY jazz from the 40s-70s…that is the extent I want to look at right now. If you want a country box, give me a yodel.

Most of these are in plastic outer sleeves – some aren’t. Most are 50s-60s. Only very few don’t have a cardboard outer sleeve, and if so and in the box, it doesn’t count on the record count, to me. I just toss those in for free because some of them have been great records to play. If my count was off, tell me, and I will make it good. Same with trashed stuff – I will replace it…I am not trying to sneak in garbage here.

I have spent very little time looking at what is in here, as far as artist, label, and title go, but have seen some good ones float by. I am not pulling anything out of them for myself any more – whatever is culled in them from my first glance 5 years ago, is what is there. I will sell them all cheap like this until I get them thinned out…it works well for everyone. It has so far, anyway.

How It Works: I found it is best to show up with 2-3 boxes of records, and 4 if I got ’em culled out and ready. The idea is, you can look at them all and pick the one(s) you want from them, but sometimes folks buy them all from me. You cannot blend them, but the choice on which one(s) to buy is yours, not mine.

Folks have been asking for specific pictures, and I am afraid I can’t do that, only because I am selling them too quickly, and they change out very fast. 75 titles I have today will change by tomorrow or even by the afternoon, so images are tough to keep up with, and definitely not the thing I want to to do with these records. It is a time suck not factored in to my $75 bottom line.

That said, I do understand the need to know what they are in general. And I am not trying to dump a bunch of useless crap on anyone- these are simply records I don’t want to work my way through. If I didn’t think you could make money from them at this price point, or just buy an instant collection of a BUNCH of jazz, they wouldn’t be here.

TO BE VERY CLEAR: I pick the records in each box, not you…but you select which box you’d like. The price is $75 for 75 records – if you buy one box, I will sell you the second one for $50. You select the box(es) from the ones I have on hand to offer you. The stock in each box changes based on whatever I have here – but I avoid duplicates and ruined records and will replace any mistakes. I am very easy to deal with, I promise.

I have only dealt locally on these so far, but I can mail them…they’d cost a bit, based on the weight. I use Media Mail at the USPS which is the cheapest possible way it can go. Most folks come meet me at 575/Bells Ferry Road, in the parking lot of a bar called Ralph’s Tavern. Map it!

I took pix of some of the records I have sold for this deal-I don’t think many of these are still here, but it gives an idea of the kind of records I have had. Artists have included Louis Armstrong, Oscar Peterson, Duke Ellington (lots of Duke), Chris Connor, Tommy Dorsey, Billy Taylor, Terri Gibbs, Errol Garner, Milt Bruckner, Chet Baker, Cal Tjader, Bud Shank, Red Nichols, Charlie Parker, JJ Johnson, Kai Winding, Sidney Bechet, Dave Brubeck, Charlie Mingus, Modern Jazz Quartet, Ella Fitzgerald, Julie London, Kid Ory, Gerry Mulligan, Stan Getz, Gene Krupa, Buddy Rich, Max Roach, and on and on and on. Lots of stuff I know, lots of stuff I don’t.

The pictures here are meant to give an idea of what COULD be in a box- I am not taking specific pix of stuff, because it is moving out of here too fast to warrant the time/effort. At $1 a record, most folks are happy to take a box to see what happens with it. They get cheaper from the first one, too! It’s been a lot of fun connecting with all the local guys slinging records – and they have appreciated the value offered here.
