Here we are looking at Monk’s Genius of Modern Music, one of my personal faves of an LP.

The cover on this one, as noted in the listing, has some moisture damage to the lower left corner – looks on the front like the sun or something. It is unfortunate, but it is there. Luckily, it doesn’t mess with the text on the back cover. Other than this issue, there is nothing else to really talk about on the cover – and the inner was replaced by a plain paper one. There is a little residue from a price tag and some random dirt – I zoomed in on the residue as well as the moisture spot.

The labels are clean with just a little bit of wear to them. As for the wax, I can see a scuff on side one, on the first track. The rest is pretty clean overall – there might be little storage related marks, but there is nothing serious to report.

I did a full play test of this one, and the mark on side one/track one is the only real issue in the playback. There are no skips, but there is a click for a few rotations (early in the song) that then goes away. I think it was about 4-5 revolutions. I did hear some random pops and some very light occasional surface noise otherwise, but it really played well for the whole thing, with only the scuff-related clicks noted in the early part of ‘Round Midnight.
